About Me

My name is Ambi Hidalgo. I am a 28 year old woman from Los Angeles. For most of my adult life I have focused on balancing work and my creative work. Skateboarding, painting, and airbrushing are passions of mine that I like to spend time with. This year, my focus has changed to programming education at Epicodus. I have never done any coding prior to attending, but at this moment, it has allowed me to set up new goals for myself upon attending.

Pappy's Happy Hands

This Pet Shelter website was a test project in order to devop skills in HTML and CSS

My First Website

My first projects. It's sole purpose existed as way to get comfortable with HTML devolpment as well as git workflow.

Yoko was a fanpage side project to show my love for our dog...to also hone my HTML learnings

While I had a variety of jobs ranging from ice cream attendant to electrical wholesale...I currently work as a substitute worker at Alberta Cooperative grocery.

I am currently pursing a programming and career devolpment at Epicodus coding boot camp. Epicodus employs thier education through pair-programming, a powerful way to learn difficult concepts. I chose this path for in order to develop a career for myself and to contribute to the world of programming devolpment.

Hobbies

Skateboarding

  • I have been skateboarding for about 7 years
  • I used to teach children how to skateboard in the summers at Skate Like a Girl
  • Skateboarding helps me relieve stress and I really love it

Airbrushing

  • started airbrushing during the 1st year of the Pandemic
  • Made pieces to sell at local queer markets in the PDX
  • Airbrushing is difficult and takes a long time to master.

Screen Printing

  • Enrolled in a printing class at PCC in Fall 2021
  • at PCC I learned a new skill in hopes of vending new pieces
  • Currently, am working towards having my own DIY printing setup
